Rassegne e ospitalità del CRT di Milano: per una visione politica del teatro di ricerca

Since its foundation in 1974, the Centro di Ricerca per il Teatro has promoted in Milan a series of festivals and international hospitality of great importance for the city's imagination in the second half of the 20th century. These events are not formally linked by the name of a single major festival, yet they cannot be considered separate events, as they are part of the same vision of theatre open to the most relevant influences and experimentations on the European and world scene. Through research conducted on materials preserved in the CRT archive (theatre booklets, press reviews, correspondence), on unpublished manuscripts and on direct testimonies, the aim is to offer a general overview of the CRT's initiatives between 1974 and 1990, focusing on particularly relevant moments such as Grotowski's shocking arrival in Milan in 1979.
