In this chapter, we discuss the most promising 5G and 6G services that can be provided by a non-terrestrial network (NTN) component. In particular, we focus on Public Protection and Disaster Relief (PPDR) scenarios, ubiquitous connectivity (such as residential broadband access and connectivity on-board moving platforms), and global private networks. After the introduction of the possible performance requirements for 5G-Advanced and 6G NTN systems, we discuss the potential use cases, as well as observations related to the sustainability of the non-terrestrial component.

Abstract
