Ancient DNA has assumed an important role in recent years in archaeology to clarify aspects of our past and that of all the other species whose history has been intertwined with ours, directly or indirectly. DNA provides important data concerning the evolution of species, but also decisive information concerning biological and cultural aspects that have characterized our evolutionary history, such as the domestication of plants and animals, the advent of agriculture, the introduction of novel foods such as dairy products, the migration of peoples, or even the spread of infectious diseases.

Abstract
Ancient DNA has assumed an important role in recent years in archaeology to clarify aspects of our past and that of all the other species whose history has been intertwined with ours, directly or indirectly. DNA provides important data concerning the evolution of species, but also decisive information concerning biological and cultural aspects that have characterized our evolutionary history, such as the domestication of plants and animals, the advent of agriculture, the introduction of novel foods such as dairy products, the migration of peoples, or even the spread of infectious diseases.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
