Argisto Giuffredi was a man of letters and a jurist. Born in Palermo in 1535, he is known for writing the book Avvertimenti cristiani (Christian Warnings), a moral testament addressed to his three children. Imprisoned in the Castello a Mare prison in Palermo in 1580, he died in the fire that broke out there three years later.
