Postmodern dance, through multiple, layered and heterogeneous kinetic strategies, seeks a corporeity in a state of absolute presence, discarding mimetic, illustrative or representative paradigms. In this way, what could be defined as “multi-dimensional body” takes shape, détourning Herbert Marcuse’s well-known title, One-dimensional Man. If it is true that, as the exponents of the Frankfurt School maintain, the human condition in advanced industrial societies is impoverished, unidirectional and deprived of any real freedom, then we can glimpse in the actions of postmodern dance the promise of a new perception of self and the world, multidimensional, where dance becomes the discovery of unforeseen anatomical architectures and unprecedented possibilities of life.

Abstract
Postmodern dance, through multiple, layered and heterogeneous kinetic strategies, seeks a corporeity in a state of absolute presence, discarding mimetic, illustrative or representative paradigms. In this way, what could be defined as “multi-dimensional body” takes shape, détourning Herbert Marcuse’s well-known title, One-dimensional Man. If it is true that, as the exponents of the Frankfurt School maintain, the human condition in advanced industrial societies is impoverished, unidirectional and deprived of any real freedom, then we can glimpse in the actions of postmodern dance the promise of a new perception of self and the world, multidimensional, where dance becomes the discovery of unforeseen anatomical architectures and unprecedented possibilities of life.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
