Robotic surgery in pediatrics is slowly gaining ground in the treatment of surgical pathologies in children, just as had already happened with the advent of laparoscopy in the 1990s. There are still some limitations in the use of the robot in children, related to the size of the instruments, which makes it difficult to use in patients weighing under eight kilograms. In recent years, courses in robotics, specific to pediatric pathologies, have multiplied, and recently the University of Florence has established a university Master’s program in pediatric robotic surgery. This publication aims to provide support to all those approaching this innovative pediatric surgical technique.
