The Chapter discusses the strategic importance of the African continent for the evolution of the EU digital transition. The legal analysis carried out in the work covers the main instruments promoted by the EU in a multilateral environment to find out how the cooperation with Africa in the domain at stake has actually been shaped so far. The focus is on the most relevant EU policy areas and types of instruments. The analysis finally leads to some questions targeting controversial aspects in terms of competences, procedures and transparency
