The proposal aims to analyze Pier Luigi Cervellati’s work as a councillor of the Bologna administration that led, under his leadership, with the architects Carlo De Angelis and Roberto Scannavini, to the elaboration of the Plan for the Historic Center of Bologna of 1969 later implemented through the PEEP Centro Storico of 1973. The contribution will focus on the main vectors and themes that the plan addressed, as well as on the upstream objectives of the plan itself and on the political debate it fostered.
