This work aims to reconstruct the lexical and metaphorical imagery through which individuals suffering from Anorexia Nervosa (AN) narrate the cohabitation with the disease and the relationship with food and their bodies. The study is based on the preliminary building up of a corpus from content posted on TikTok by “recovery” accounts, i.e., created by individuals who have embarked on the recovery journey. The results of the computational (topic modeling) and qualitative (MIP-IT) analyses allowed us to identify the main topics and the most frequent metaphorical mappings, and to evaluate their consistency with the state of the art in the literature.

Abstract
This work aims to reconstruct the lexical and metaphorical imagery through which individuals suffering from Anorexia Nervosa (AN) narrate the cohabitation with the disease and the relationship with food and their bodies. The study is based on the preliminary building up of a corpus from content posted on TikTok by “recovery” accounts, i.e., created by individuals who have embarked on the recovery journey. The results of the computational (topic modeling) and qualitative (MIP-IT) analyses allowed us to identify the main topics and the most frequent metaphorical mappings, and to evaluate their consistency with the state of the art in the literature.| File | Dimensione | Formato | |
