The paper describe an integrated system developed in order to record, construct, pre-process, manage, visualize and visually navigate 3D reality-based models of a large architectural site for Cultural-Heritage GIS systems. The system has been conceived as a scalable application for different types of users, with a largely scalable interface, able to support different output devices and to work at different levels of iconicity. The paper deals with the 3D modeling construction pipeline and illustrates the database and storage modules used within the system.
