The chapter reports about the results of a joint urban planning and design laboratory involving teams from the Universities of Napoli, Patras, and Bologna, engaging the territorial compound of Bagnoli, a large brownfield in the northwest of the metropolitan area of Naples. The text presents the overall scheme of the work undertaken by the laboratory on the compound, excavates its geographic and urban palimpsest, from ancient to recent days, and cast possible scenarios of sustainable rehabilitation.
