In this chapter, we draw upon an interdisciplinary body of work to describe some of the environmental crimes and ecocidal trends that have gathered pace since the mid-twentieth century, largely because they have not been taken seriously or have strategically been ignored by states and corporations alike. We then focus on Environmental Restorative Justice (ERJ), addressing its origins, aims, uses and challenges. By drawing upon recent interdisciplinary ERJ projects that explore new, imaginative ways of hearing the voices of the more-than-human and have them represented in RJ circles, we show the transformative potential of ERJ and call for greater support for restorative responses to the harms done to the planet and to us all on a daily basis.
