Urbanism

Oxford Dictionary defines urbanism as "The development and planning of cities and towns" (Oxford Dictionary). Urbanization and sport have been closely related since the late 20th century and early 21st century. Rapid urbanization in the post-industrial era, the increase of green spaces in cities, public playgrounds and new forms of entertainment have opened new possibilities for sports urbanism. In addition, new elements such as sustainability, participation, and security have changed city planning regarding sports urbanism. In developing European and North American cities, we are now looking at new projects to define specific urban spaces like a sports district. There is a need for a specific theoretical basis to put forward some fundamental elements to design urban planning within our urban and rural places. In consideration of the space it occupies, research on urban and rural morphology has increasingly acquired a central role in the urban design of the city about well-being.
