The paper focuses on two Roman places of worship from Romagna both connected with the water element. The first one is the sanctuary of Bagnacavallo, built at the end of the 2nd century BC in a borderline position between the lands appoderated by the Romans and the marshy areas of the territory of Ravenna, where the cults of Feronia, Fone Quiet(a) and Salus Mag(na) are certainly attested. The second context is the complex of Bagno di Romagna, along the via Sarsinate, frequented between the beginning of the 2nd century BC and the late imperial period, in which the cult functions were certainly associated with thermal and curative ones and which also included a mansio.

Abstract
The paper focuses on two Roman places of worship from Romagna both connected with the water element. The first one is the sanctuary of Bagnacavallo, built at the end of the 2nd century BC in a borderline position between the lands appoderated by the Romans and the marshy areas of the territory of Ravenna, where the cults of Feronia, Fone Quiet(a) and Salus Mag(na) are certainly attested. The second context is the complex of Bagno di Romagna, along the via Sarsinate, frequented between the beginning of the 2nd century BC and the late imperial period, in which the cult functions were certainly associated with thermal and curative ones and which also included a mansio.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
