Meretrix. Norma, trasgressione e propaganda sul corpo femminile

This chapter examines the condition of the meretrix. Even in Roman times there were different types of prostitutes. The meretrix is the one who earns or makes money from her sexual activity and can either be a prostitute in dark and dismal rooms or, on the other hand, a refined escort, cultured and charming. In any case, the accusation of being meretrix is aimed at all women who do not conform to the positive female role models developed by men and who choose to use their sexuality politically.
