This research Project is carried out in the frame of the international research project ITER (International Thermonuclear Experimental Reactor), funded by European Union, USA, Russian Federation, China, India, South Korea and Japan. The total funding for this research Project is 25 kEuros. In the frame of this Project, the University of Bologna collaborates to the analysis of the experimental results of the ITER Sultan Samples. The University of Bologna has collaborated in the recent years to the development of codes for the electromagnetic, thermal and fluid-dynamic analysis of superconducting cables. The electromagnetic part of these code has been recently improved with the addition of a geometric and electromagnetic model of the cable conduit. In the frame of the present collaboration, the final version of the code developed at the University of Bologna, coupled with the model of joints developed at the University of Udine, is applied to the study of the experimental results on the ITER conductor samples.
