Storia della letteratura tedesca. Dal Tardo Illuminismo all'età delle Avanguardie

This volume ist the first part of a project devoted to the history of modern and contemporary German-speaking literature. It takes as its starting point what can be described as the ‘lab of a new Humanism in European culture’, developing from the Late Enlightenment to the 1920s. Each period is introduced by a broad overview, which reconstructs the historical and cultural contexts. Special attention is paid to the intertwining of the literary works with critical thinking, art and scientific discoveries of the time. Each movement and each author are presented in order to highlight a specific trend of which they are an expression.
