Filosofia e trasformazione. La funzione del pensiero critico nell’azione del Pci durante la Prima Repubblica

The paper delves into the topic of the Pci’s cultural policies in the field of philosophy, questioning the interest of the Communist leadership groups in philosophy. It identifies the ultimate reason for such attention, unique in the Italian political landscape of the post-war period, in the ambition, intrinsic to Communist history, to fight for a historical change of epochal significance in favor of the ruling classes. In conclusion, the cultural regression and the resulting growing disinterest in philosophy, which arose within the Italian left starting from 1989, are also considered. This gradual disengagement has ultimately harmed philosophical debate, both academic and non-academic.
