The contribution updates the scientific community on the research conducted within the Hellenistic and Roman necropolis of Phoinike. The context, located in Caonia, a region of ancient Epirus, was investigated by the University of Bologna between 2001 and 2011 and has yielded a great deal of information on the society and rituality of those ‘peripheral’ populations of the Greek world.
