A small group of simultaneous interpreters who regularly work for public as well as private Italian tv stations were interviewed in order to analyze the extent to which the picture given above matches their personal experience. The observations collected are focussed mainly on their interpreting for Oscar awards ceremonies and cannot be generalized, but the interviewees agreed that these observations well apply to the current practice of tv interpreting in Italy.
