Liberalism is a political doctrine which concerned with the organisation and power in order to guarantee individual rights. The experts of international relations consider liberalism to be a theory as opposed to realism. The latter is characterised by by a deeply pessimistic anthropological and a cyclical view of history, which excludes stable forms of appeasement. International liberalism is optimistic and progressive, believing that it is possible to overcome the overcoming of war itself. This book seeks to show how this dichotomy does not fully capture the nuances of the thinking of some of the leading liberal thinkers classics such as Kant, Constant Tocqueville and Molinari. Although these thinkers tended to be pacifists, they are not entirely convinced that that it is possible to eliminate war from relations between states, which remain the main actors of international politics. Even the most obvious element of opposition to realism politics, the reflection on the concept of progress, must at least be reduced. In conclusion, liberalism as a tradition of the study of international relations is not entirely (perhaps little) superimposable with classical liberalism.

Abstract
In conclusion, liberalism as a tradition of the study of international relations is not entirely (perhaps little) superimposable with classical liberalism.| File | Dimensione | Formato | |
