This contribution aims to highlight some unpublished elements that may emerge from Schopenhauer's lectures "Über die gesamte Philosophie oder die Lehre vom Wesen der Welt und dem menschlichen Geiste", in relation to the third part dedicated to the metaphysics of beauty, recently published in a new critical, first Italian edition. Specifically, I would like to try to show how the material of the lectures, in its relative autonomy, can shed light on some passages of the aesthetics of "The World as Will and Representation". The paper focuses therefore on a particularly significant case, namely Schopenhauer's interpretation of Dante and his poetry as dream-truth. In addition to a few paragraphs paragraphs of "The World" and its genesis, the contribution will deal also with the "Essay on the Vision of Spirits". In opposition to the idea that the material of the lectures would be nothing but nothing but a secondary and insignificant source of "The World as Will and Representation", I will try to show how, on a topic of such primary importance as the view of Dante, "The Metaphysics of the beauty" can help to better define Schopenhauer's reflection on art.

Abstract
In opposition to the idea that the material of the lectures would be nothing but nothing but a secondary and insignificant source of "The World as Will and Representation", I will try to show how, on a topic of such primary importance as the view of Dante, "The Metaphysics of the beauty" can help to better define Schopenhauer's reflection on art.| File | Dimensione | Formato | |
