Climate diaries are a visual research tool devised to capture some of the lived realities of the climate crisis on everyday lives, as well as how it is resisted and framed, across the globe. To capture the spatio-temporal dimensions of the climate crisis, the method involves participants sharing photos and perceptions of the climate crisis on their lives over a period of time (in this instance, one month) through a WhatsApp group. The purpose of this visual instrument is to explore the power of images to convey individual understandings of the climate crisis as it is manifested, resisted and understood across the planet. The method further aims to create a dialogue around environmental concerns, the politics of knowledge production, and climate and racial justice narratives.

Abstract
Climate diaries are a visual research tool devised to capture some of the lived realities of the climate crisis on everyday lives, as well as how it is resisted and framed, across the globe. To capture the spatio-temporal dimensions of the climate crisis, the method involves participants sharing photos and perceptions of the climate crisis on their lives over a period of time (in this instance, one month) through a WhatsApp group. The purpose of this visual instrument is to explore the power of images to convey individual understandings of the climate crisis as it is manifested, resisted and understood across the planet. The method further aims to create a dialogue around environmental concerns, the politics of knowledge production, and climate and racial justice narratives.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
