Abstract
Padua, a city of commerce and infrastructures, located in the center of the Veneto region, is a dynamic place from an economic point of view, based on a consolidated commercial and manufacturing tradition. Nevertheless, the history of both proto-industrial architecture and later architecture in the period of post-war reconstruction with the same purpose has been the subject of little research by critics. Their scrutiny puts the focus on buildings of particular interest and formal quality. The Venetian city, recently regulated by Luigi Piccinato’s Piano Regolatore Generale (1954-1957), is the setting for the construction of several factories in a controversial economic scenario which, on the thresh-old of the third millennium, would see the decline and disappearance of a large part of the local production system.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
