The "AMBULO" Project (Arabic Manuscripts in the Bologna University Library Online) is promoted by the King Abdulaziz Chair for Islamic Studies – University of Bologna. The project is carried out under the supervision of Ahmad Addous, and coordinated by Valentina Sagaria Rossi. "AMBULO" has started in September 2017 and it provided the revaluation of one of the most important and richest collections of Arabic manuscripts hosted in a public library in Italy: the Oriental Manuscripts Fund of the University Library of Bologna. The work, entirely funded by the King Abdulaziz Chair for Islamic studies at the University of Bologna, was concluded in 2023 with the implementation and digitalization online of almost the entire collection. This collection covers an extremely wide range of themes: dozens of beautifully decorated Holy Qur’ans, hadith, Islamic jurisprudence, theological debates, prayers, grammars, poetry and metrics, mysticism, philosophy, medicine, astronomy, history, geografy, etc.
