A simple analytical expression is derived to describe the connection between the pressure coefficient distribution over the surface of a 2D airfoil and the angle of attack for steady incompressible potential flow. The obtained relationship is based on the same assumptions of common airfoil theories, viz. inviscid potential flow tangent to the airfoil surface. Since the demonstration is based on conformal mapping theory, this result has general validity when the corresponding hypotheses are satisfied, i.e. for high Reynolds number and small angles of attack

Abstract
A simple analytical expression is derived to describe the connection between the pressure coefficient distribution over the surface of a 2D airfoil and the angle of attack for steady incompressible potential flow. The obtained relationship is based on the same assumptions of common airfoil theories, viz. inviscid potential flow tangent to the airfoil surface. Since the demonstration is based on conformal mapping theory, this result has general validity when the corresponding hypotheses are satisfied, i.e. for high Reynolds number and small angles of attackI documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
