Optically pure, C2-symmetric N,N,N-ligands containing the pyridine ring with two substituents at C2 and C6 both incorporating one aziridine ring have been prepared by a three-step sequence and overall high diastereoselectivity. These new compounds can act as di- or tridentate ligands towards metallic species, which are active catalysts in enantioselective transformations.
