For example, in Nigeria, plant-derived ethanol has been developed as a kerosene replacement; in Rwanda and Ethiopia, jatropha seems to be developing as a biofeedstock for biodiesel manufacture; Th e Peoples Republic of China has doubled biodiesel manufacturing capacity, and in South America massive bioethanol industries are in now existence. Also, innovation in Australia is examining the potential of novel biofeedstocks from the genus Pongamia, a native tree.
