Multicomponet reaction have attracted considerable attention thanks to their possibility to obtain only one product starting from three or more reactants with a one pot reaction. This contribution will present useful transformations of Betti's base and its derivatives. In particular, (i) the crreation of a small library of new amidoalkyl naphthols derived from the multicomponent reaction between b-naphthol, benzaldehyde and a range of primary and secondary amides. (ii) the dricet amine exchange reaction between 1-(a-dimethyl-aminobenzyl)-2-naphthol and secondary amines, for the rapid obtainment of diversely N-substituted Betti's base derivatives.
