Il rapporto fra sostenibilità in edilizia e i principi della "lean construction"

The paper investigate the relationship between Sustainable Building Construction and Lean Construction. Sustainability in Building Construction means to build aiming at Sustainable Development. Sustainable Development is a development that meets the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs. The main features of Sustainable Building, or Green Building, are: energy efficiency, optimization of resource usage, proper building placement, comfort of internal environment, social and economical sustainability. Actually the implementation of a Green Building Project needs a major effort that can lead to additional project costs, thus leading to an unsuccesful project considering the cost-time related targets. Lean construction aims at improving process performance and at reducing waste with the goal of maximizing value to the customer. The implementation of lean production principles has been succesfull in higly complex project environment, like automotive industry, and is a well known research topic for construction. The synergy of goals and the possibility of using lean tools to enhance Green Projects are emphasised.
