This contribution, after a terminological and historiographical introduction, addresses the issue "Jesus and apocalypticism" by focusing on some specific texts, two examples of ‘apocalyptic sayings’ attributed to Jesus (which will be analyzed also by referring to their parallels and related passages): a saying attested in a canonized gospel (Lk 10:18) and an agraphon consisting of a variant reading in a manuscript of Mark (the logion Freer). Fil rouge of the analysis, the themes of the eschatological arrival of the kingdom, of Judgment and the end of Satan’s power.
