Abstract
Together, both of these volumes – A History of Romantic Literature by Fredrick Burwick and Romanticism, Seminal Insights edited by Larry H. Peer – redraw the parameters of British Romanticism, expanding the focus of critical analysis so that it extends beyond strictly national boundaries. Political, social, and economic events do, after all, shape the content and the forms of Romantic literature – together with the artistic influences from Europe and those extended by British authors across the channel. Such rich and provocative perspectives help to nurture this fertile field of study with new textual and theoretical investigations, inviting us to further interrogate questions of identity, human rights and freedom – even today.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
