An important progress in the preparation of the ISTA Handbook on GMO Testing has been made with the completion of the section on the statistical aspects that is presented here as a preview. The section is intended as a practical guide for lab managers and analysts for designing testing plans design, data analysis and reporting of results. This work was initiated long ago with a collaboration between the Statistics and the GMO Committee, and received a significant momentum with a meeting in Bologna in January 2019.
