Comprensione del linguaggio: Movimento, azione, socialità

The chapter focuses on words and sentences comprehension starting from the embodied and grounded perspective. The first part is aimed at showing that the sensorimotor system is involved in language comprehension; the notion of simulation is discussed. The second part illustrates how movement, action and also social aspects are reflected in the language comprehension process. Firstly the effects of linguistic experience on the way we represent words, and particularly abstract words, are discussed. Then some studies are described, which show how emotional and social aspects influence the relationships between language and motor system.
