The new Indo-Iranica series has the ambition to fill a gap in the research landscape in the field of Asian Studies. We still miss a forum for publications in the sphere of Philology, Cultural and Social History, with a special focus on the topics and religions in question. The special "Series Purpurea", moreover, will unite selected writings of leading scholars, who have decisively enriched the research fields above mentioned. The series Indo-Iranica is published by the Department of Studies and Methods of Preservation of Cultural Heritage at the Alma Mater Studiorum - University of Bologna, in cooperation with the Institut fuer Iranistik of the Austrian Academy of Sciences, Vienna, Austria.
