E.Simmons ca ncause disease of non cropplants,herbaceouscrops,andfruittrees.BrownSpotofPear(BSP),causedbyS.vesicarium,isthemosteconomicallyrelevantfungaldiseaseformanyvarietiesofpearinItalyandinotherEuropeancountries.Twigs,leavesandfruitscanbedamaged,andmanyfungicideapplicationsarethusrequiredfrompetalfalltofruitripeningtoprotectpearorchards.Moreover,conidiawidespreadfromplantmaterialinfectedbythepathogencantriggerrespiratoryallergy.WewereaimedtoprovidethefirstavailablegenomesequenceofS.vesicarium,thatisonlythesecondofStemphiliumgenus.Thegenomeresourceispresentedaccompaniedbymetricsandproperties.Amongpredictedgenesitwaspossibleidentifyseveralorthologuesofgenesinvolvedinpathogenesisandfullvirulence,hostcellwalldegradation,componentsofsignalingandsecondarymetabolismpathways,fungicidesresistancesandtriggingofhumanallergy.
