The increasing production of tires in Europe and the impossibility to put them in landfills, have made possible the diffusion of studies aimed at the recovery and exploitation of these materials into new eco-compatible products. Tires, at the end of life cycle, may be reintroduced in the cycle for many different uses in construction activity and particularly in the field of noise protection. The need to provide effective and efficient solutions to recovery and disposal of spent tires has stimulated the development of projects aimed at the reuse of grinded rubber even if this implies costs of manufacture. This study therefore presents the results of a research conducted for the design and implementation of an innovative jet material usable, in acoustic protection of civil and industrial constructions, for the abatement of noise and sound transmission. The tested mixture ensure a good insulation for noise from foot traffic when thin and light attics, in addition to increased speed of propagation, present low power soundproofing. Tests carried out in accordance to UNI EN ISO 29052-1 reveal values of attenuation of sound pressure ranging between 21 - 23 db levels as calculated and verified by tests of dynamic stiffness.
