The study investigates the annual biological cycle of Merlangius merlangus (Gadidae, Gadiformes) in the Northern and Middle Adriatic Sea. Findings revealed: a higher growth rate for females, a reproductive period ranging from November to May, and a size at first sexual maturity of 25 cm for females and 24cm for males at least for 50% of the all specimens examined.
