Analysing frequency and nature of nuclear activity in two samples of Compact Groups (CGs) of galaxies we have found a remarkable deficiency of Broad Line AGNs as compared to Narrow Line AGns. The cause of such deficeincy may be related to the environment typical of these associations and to the average low luminosity of AGNs in CGs (10^39 erg/s) that imply lower accretion rates in CG AGNs , making BLR undetectable or absent.
