The roman water supply system of Fontana della Pigna in Rimini has been for centuries the only water supply to serve the city. The short duct (about 900m long) has been restored several times, and we know from 19th century archive documents that it contains pieces of limestone, brick, metal and wood. Abstract
The roman water supply system of Fontana della Pigna in Rimini has been for centuries the only water supply to serve the city. The short duct (about 900m long) has been restored several times, and we know from 19th century archive documents that it contains pieces of limestone, brick, metal and wood. In 1870 an octagonal shrine was built to protect the source; subject to restoration in the 90s, it is now in the middle of a busy road junction.File in questo prodotto:
