The article analyzes the issue of the relationship between distance of the divine and proximity of the other in the thought of Emmanuel Levinas, with particular reference to "Otherwise than Being". Levinas emphasizes the distance and even the absence of the divine, or of the Good, which, however, has always already called the subject to responsibility. The Infinite or God is "transcendent to the point of absence", but even in the absence the Infinite leaves a "trace" which is inscribed in the interiority of the subject, and which makes her constitutively responsible.

Abstract
The article analyzes the issue of the relationship between distance of the divine and proximity of the other in the thought of Emmanuel Levinas, with particular reference to "Otherwise than Being". Levinas emphasizes the distance and even the absence of the divine, or of the Good, which, however, has always already called the subject to responsibility. The Infinite or God is "transcendent to the point of absence", but even in the absence the Infinite leaves a "trace" which is inscribed in the interiority of the subject, and which makes her constitutively responsible.File in questo prodotto:
