The scientific literature of reference demonstrates how university museums involved in knowledge generation and transmission become, according to a «hub and spoke» model, a cultural core of universities. Here, the diverse academic institutions and knowledge repositories interrelate to become platforms for creativity and problem solving. From this perspective, the paper proposes analyzing how the museum education workshop (MOdE, Museo Officina dell’Educazione) of the Department of Education Studies of the University of Bologna can contribute to this cultural and organizational model within the University’s Museum System. Finally, there is an analysis of the «white rooms» as spaces for exhibits of particularly innovative technologies for the younger public visiting the physical-virtual collections.

Abstract
The scientific literature of reference demonstrates how university museums involved in knowledge generation and transmission become, according to a «hub and spoke» model, a cultural core of universities. Here, the diverse academic institutions and knowledge repositories interrelate to become platforms for creativity and problem solving. From this perspective, the paper proposes analyzing how the museum education workshop (MOdE, Museo Officina dell’Educazione) of the Department of Education Studies of the University of Bologna can contribute to this cultural and organizational model within the University’s Museum System. Finally, there is an analysis of the «white rooms» as spaces for exhibits of particularly innovative technologies for the younger public visiting the physical-virtual collections.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
