The book offers the first monographic study on Augustine's 'De prouidentia dei' (= 'sermo Dolbeau 29'), which came to light at the end of the last century. It presents an updated edition of the Latin text, accompanied by a new Italian translation; the commentary deals with philological, linguistic, stylistic, literary and exegetical aspects of the work, questioning especially the nature and the literary genre to which the text refers.
Il volume costituisce il primo studio monografico sul 'De prouidentia dei' (= 'sermo Dolbeau 29') di Agostino, tornato alla luce sul finire del secolo scorso. Presenta un aggiornamento del testo latino e una nuova traduzione italiana; il commento approfondisce gli aspetti filologici, linguistici, stilistico-letterari ed esegetici dell’opera, interrogandosi soprattutto sulla natura e sul genere letterario cui ricondurre il testo.
