This book is an important revision and extension of the volume "Ergonomics applied to the project - Historical notes and Anthropometry" published in October 2009. The anthropometric parts have been revisited and the dimensions indicated have been reworked on the basis of the new regulations in force, however facilitating their reading. Furthermore, it has been integrated the parts of joint physiology and posture, as well as complete some parts of the historical notes, already rich in information, with reference to the history of medicine. The volume thus presents another important aspect of the human body: not only its size but also its ability to move, bend and assume different postures. This is not a philosophical, theoretical and reflective book on design issues inherent in the body. It is a book that wants to give clear indications of what man needs to interact with the surrounding environment, furnishings and products.
