The chapter presents data of a study on Teenagers' appropriation of audiovisual contents through Internet and other platforms. Particularly it addresses the issues of public content regulation policies and contemporary teen agers' skills in evaluating the moral aspects of audiovisual content. Face to the changing media environment, the privatization of media use and the spread of mobile platforms and of Internet access, traditional public regulation policies as well as family governance of media use and content consumption seem to be more and more difficult to apply. This specific socio-cultural situation gives rise to renewed worries about the impact of audiovisual content on children and adolescents. Are contemporay children and teens as vulnerabvble and un skilled as they are often presuemd to be? The study demonstrates that contemporray western teenagers are more aware of media contents and their possible effects than parents and teachers supposed to be.
