The S. Domenico Rotolus 77/7411, kept at the State Archive in Bologna, is a document not yet published and composed by the union of 28 papers, sewed together in order to form a long unique strip of 20 m. It is part of a small but interesting dossier documentary belonging to Teodorico Borgognoni (Lucca 1205 – Bologna 1298), dominican friar, surger, eterinary and bishop of Bitonto and Cervia. From this source, unknown untill now, which reports the statements under oath of thirteen witnesses about specific arguments related to the life and heritage of the Bishop Borgognoni, the Author looks at the paleographic and diplomatic aspects in order to describe its peculiarities, to find out the exact date, its genesis and its functions, also connected to the “rolled” shape, in which it is kept. The document’s characteristics, that position the S. Domenico Rotolus in the precincts of the dicta testium, have been studied also in connection to other parchments kept in the same Archive (S. Domenico 77/7410), either directly connected to it or that generally contribute to better specify its value. The contribution is tightly connected to the work of Lorenza Iannacci “Il rotolo San Domenico 77/7411 dell’Archivio di Stato di Bologna e il dossier Borgognoni: storia di un processo annunciato (f. XIII – i. XIV sec.)”, published in this volume (pp. 297–302), with whom we share the research and project about the critical edition of the long Rotolus.

Abstract
297–302), with whom we share the research and project about the critical edition of the long Rotolus.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
