Abstract
This contribution aims at investigating the relationship between the production of images on the slavery and the forms of exploitation of the migrant workforce employed into the agricultural sector. In particular, the authors analyse how the public representation basically oscillate between a depiction of the migrants into the role of the slave with a “broken back” and the one of slave who needs to “break the chains”. By bringing together cases coming from literature and ethnographic experiences, the contribution provides examples of migrants’ self representation.File in questo prodotto:
