Over the last two decades, the new non-fiction picturebook has changed the way we communicate or share knowledge with children, especially due to the powerful, stylish, creative visual aspect of this new medium. In a conversation with five famous illustrators/authors of many remarkable non-fiction picturebooks recently published all over the world, this paper tries to understand which is the vision of the world, of science, of illustration, of creativity that leads to such innovative learning books for children that are also works of art, and what the implications for the learning process and the engagement with the world can be.

Abstract
