"A living archive. History, protagonists, order of the Leo de Berardinis fund" The Leo de Berardinis Archive, held in University of Bologna, contains the documentation produced and collected by the artist and his collaborators from 1967 to 2003. These are manuscript workbooks, notes, scripts, audio and video recordings, photographs, posters, playbills, press reviews, mostly relating to the Bologna period (1982-2001). The author, curator of the archival fund, traces the events that led to the birth of the archive and its project of ordering, realized by the Department of the Arts with the advice of the IBC - Institute for artistic, cultural and natural heritage of the Region Emilia Romagna. The essay highlights how the archive is to be considered an essential component of the “Teatro di Leo”, intrinsically in relation to memory and scenic heritage: "space of memory", like his living theatre and therefore not only a place of conservation, but also of reactivation and opening to the outside.
"Un archivio vivente. Storia, protagonisti, ordinamento del Fondo Leo de Berardinis" L’Archivio Leo de Berardinis, conservato presso l’Università di Bologna, contiene la documentazione prodotta e raccolta dall’artista e dai suoi collaboratori dal 1967 al 2003. Si tratta di quaderni di lavoro manoscritti, appunti, copioni, registrazioni audio e video, fotografie, locandine, programmi di sala, rassegne stampa, per lo più relativi al ventennio bolognese (1982-2001). L’autrice, curatrice del fondo archivistico, ripercorre le vicende che hanno portato alla nascita dell’archivio e al suo progetto di ordinamento, realizzato dal Dipartimento delle Arti con la consulenza dell’IBC – Istituto per i beni artistici, culturali e naturali della Regione Emilia Romagna. Il saggio mette in risalto come l’archivio sia da considerare una componente essenziale del Teatro di Leo, intrinsecamente in rapporto con la memoria e l’eredità scenica: “spazio della memoria” come il suo teatro vivente e perciò non solo un luogo di conservazione, ma anche di riattivazione e di apertura verso l’esterno.
