The present work aimed at analyzing the feasibility of using in-shoe sensorized pressure insoles to quantify the magnitude of loads carried during working activities. For this purpose, capacitive sensor insoles (Pedar, Novel) were used to record pressure parameters on a sample of 16 subjects during the execution of a number of motor tasks; while carrying 4, 8, and 12 kg loads. Three carrying modes were investigated: in a box in front of the chest, in hand-held bags, and in a backpack. The present preliminary results demonstrated the system's capability to discriminate load weights equal to or greater than 8 kg, thus suggesting Us application in measurement campaigns in working environments.
